It is with great regret that we have to inform that Mr. Richard Boekholt, Chairman IIW Select Committee on Shipbuilding, has passed away in Albir (Spain) on the 22nd of February 2011.

He was very much looking forward to the 16th Meeting of the IIW-SC on Shipbuilding in Kijkduin (The Hague), so it is extremely unfortunate that we will not be able to organize what Richard called his 'retirement' event which means the meeting on the 19/20th of April will be postponed.  We will contact you within a suitable period with respect to the continuation of the 16th meeting of IIW SC on Shipbuilding meeting in The Hague, The Netherlands.

We hope he will be remembered for his expertise and commitment to IIW.
