- Multimaterial Structures
Design and production methods for light weight, high quality structures based in hybrid and multimaterial combinations, including multilayered and meso-3D.
- Thermoplastic Composites
Applications and processing: infusion, forming, assembly and disassembly. Strategies for Performance Improvement including calculation, reinforcement, surface conditioning, coatings… NDT (Non Destructive Testing) & SHM (Structural Health Monitoring).
- Coating Technology.
Development, characterization and application of coating systems to provide advanced surface functionality, including tribological (high or low friction), corrosion, wear/impact protection, thermal, chemical, etc.
- Materials under Extreme Conditions
Alloys and materials for chemical industry and energy plants, high creep resistance, tool materials, including nanoreinforced alloys, MMCs, etc… Embedding condition monitoring in the whole material or a part. Corrosion protection under extreme environments.
