Generation and application of 4.0 technologies for the transmission components smart manufacturing

  • Start: 01/08/2019
  • End: 30/06/2022

4.0driveline's main objective is to develop new digital and advanced automation technologies for the manufacture of transmission components for the automotive industry.
To move towards this new concept of factory, 4.0driveline proposes the development of:
• Digitization and connectivity technologies: OT/IT convergence, Internet of Things, digital platforms and horizontal and vertical integration technologies;
• Technologies that lead to new concepts of smart, flexible, modular and reconfigurable manufacturing: uniting robotization, perception, cognition and distributed and decentralized control strategies and;
• Analytical and data management technologies: focused on product and process control (zero-defect manufacturing), production optimization and predictive maintenance (joining data mining, FoG computing and Artificial Intelligence).
The ultimate objective of the 4.0driveline initiative is to facilitate the development of a standard and universal future factory concept, which allows to maximize the applicability of technologies developed not only within the GKN Driveline factory, but in different industries and sectors of activity.
AIMEN as a project partner, will contribute its knowledge in the development of new technologies of robotic bimanual manipulation assisted by Artificial Intelligence and will collaborate in the implementation of the technologies involved in the project.
