Design and validation of an efficient and reliable battery with optimum performance for two-wheeled electric vehicles

Aim: Design and development of an efficient and reliable high-performance battery for a three-wheel electric vehicle, formed by a new configuration of lithium ion cells connected and assembled within an optimized architecture of the components of the battery. Therefore, AIMEN will carry out the a testing methodology development to validate and quantify the performance and durability of battery cells leading to detect variations in performance as a result of: 1) modifications of electrode materials, manufacturing process and/or assembly of batteries, 2) the use and operation conditions (charge-discharge cycles, charge state, etc) and 3) aging process as a function of several conditions such as temperature, humidity, stress components, etc.
E-life project expects to obtain three main results at the end of the project: 1) A greater knowledge and capacity to model batteries behavior, by applying the experimental methodology that will be developed in the project. 2) VMS and AIMEN will arrange a greater capacity to design more reliable batteries with greater performance and durability thanks to the application of the behavior models that will be developed in e-life project 3) Achievement of new architecture and battery configuration with greater durability and performance, that VMS plans to incorporate to its three-wheeled prototype electric vehicle to be exploited in electric motorcycles market.
