The objective is the experimental development of new technologies and manufacturing methodologies applied to the industrialized construction of modular buildings, in a new concept of flexible and intelligent robotic manufacturing cell especially focused on short series of variable geometry such as slab and roof frames, with the aim of increasing the productivity and quality of their manufacturing processes.
In this way, the development proposed in ROBIN combines the advantages of automation and robotics, thanks to the development of innovative manufacturing technologies and their combination with the development of new flexible, high-precision robotic systems with a high capacity for adaptation and reconfiguration.
The ROBIN project will have a significant impact on the modular real estate manufacturing process by reducing the total time spent on welding and quality control tasks by 60%, with a 300% increase in productivity and a considerable increase in the quality of the frame obtained. Furthermore, the increase in process efficiency will result in an expected reduction in energy consumption of 55%.
The consortium led by ABECONSA, a company with relevant experience in design, marketing and installation of modular buildings, and formed by the company ZEROHOUSING, expert in manufacturing modular buildings, and the research organization AIMEN Centro Tecnológico, with experience in monitoring and control technologies for manufacturing processes, automation, robotics and sensors, has the necessary capabilities to achieve the objectives of the project, and directly exploit the technology developed.
